**About Midas**
Midas is an AI research terminal for serious investors. Our platform lets users query any US stock and get answers cited directly to SEC filings. We combine an equity screener, AI‑powered research agents, custom dashboards, and document analysis — all in one place.
We’re a fast‑shipping, high‑velocity engineering team working across AWS/Kubernetes, Python services, Postgres document stores, large‑scale ingestion pipelines, and Dagster orchestration.
**Role Overview**
We’re looking for a senior technical leader to own and scale our entire data platform — ingestion pipelines, document storage, retrieval systems, and reliability engineering. You’ll set technical direction and operate at Staff/Lead level.
**Responsibilities**
- Own architecture + reliability of ingestion & document‑store services
- Build and harden onboarding pipelines (timeouts, circuit breakers, deduplication, DLQs)
- Lead retrieval layer (chunking, embeddings, ranking) powering AI agents
- Drive data quality across ~80 document types and hundreds of tickers
- Set engineering standards for testing, observability, incident response
- Mentor mid‑level engineers and raise the bar across the team
**Requirements**
- 8+ years building production backend/data systems
- Deep Python + strong Postgres fundamentals
- Hands‑on AWS (SQS, DynamoDB, S3) + Kubernetes
- Experience scaling document/ETL pipelines (filings, transcripts, IR materials ideal)
- Orchestration experience (Dagster, Airflow, etc.)
- Proven ownership of production incidents + post‑incident hardening
**Nice to Have:**
RAG/retrieval infra experience, fintech/capital markets background
