As a Financial Controller, you will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for leading ALCA's internal finance function, driving project profitability analysis, cash flow management, and management reporting. You will work closely with the COO on day-to-day operations and with project teams on project economics, to deliver the financial insights that support strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and monitor project budgets, track performance against actuals, and produce forecasts for every active project.
- Own cash flow forecasting at company and project level.
- Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc financial reports to senior leadership.
- Oversee the accounts payable cycle, including inventory movements and customs documentation in the ERP system, ensuring proper controls between purchase orders, goods received, and supplier invoices.
- Supervise accounting operations and ensure quality of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. Manage complex postings and month-end closing entries directly.
- Supervise tax filings (VAT, withholding, social contributions, customs duties) prepared by the administration team, coordinating with the external accountant on tax compliance and statutory reporting.
- Investigate project cost variances, identify root causes, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Support the CFO with analytical preparation for banking negotiations, audits, and institutional matters.
- Provide financial analysis for new project bids and operational improvements.
- Develop financial controls, processes, and reporting systems, strengthening our ERP system as the financial backbone of the company.
**Requirements**
We are looking for a highly motivated professional with the following qualifications:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (Master's degree or ACCA qualification preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in finance, financial controlling, FP&A, or external audit (Big4 or similar) with clients in construction, manufacturing, or other project-based industries.
- Hands-on experience with project cost control, management reporting, and cash flow analysis. Exposure to building or improving controlling processes is a strong plus.
- Advanced Excel is essential — you should be comfortable building dynamic financial models and reusable analytical tools. Proficiency in ERP systems (Odoo is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of project cost control, cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and percentage-of-completion methodology.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ownership mentality, structured analytical thinking, intellectual honesty, and the ability to push back constructively when needed. Comfort with autonomy and the discipline to build durable systems rather than react to daily fires.
- Fluency in Albanian. Knowledge of English and/or Italian is considered a plus.
