We’re looking for a Power BI Specialist to own dashboard development across the company. We work in healthcare and deal with complex, real‑world data, and we need someone who is fully comfortable taking reporting work from start to finish.
Power BI is the main tool used, but the expectation is broader. A strong Power BI expert should be able to understand data, model it correctly, and build reliable dashboards regardless of the source or platform.
**What you’ll be responsible for**
You’ll design, build, and maintain dashboards end to end. This includes understanding requirements, shaping data, creating the data model, writing the logic, and delivering dashboards that are accurate, performant, and easy to use.
**The work includes:**
- Building dashboards from scratch and improving existing ones
- Turning raw, often messy data into clean and usable datasets
- Creating solid data models that support flexible and scalable reporting
- Writing advanced DAX for calculations, comparisons, trends, and performance metrics
- Using Power Query (M) to clean, transform, and combine data from different sources
- Publishing and managing reports in Power BI Service (datasets, refreshes, permissions)
- Troubleshooting data and performance issues when numbers don’t look right
- Working independently and fully owning your work without constant guidance

You should have:
- Deep, hands‑on experience with Power BI
- Strong DAX skills and a clear understanding of how to structure and optimize measures
- Strong data modeling skills and an understanding of how data design affects reporting
- Solid experience with Power Query (M)
- Comfort working with different types of data sources (files, databases, system exports, APIs, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and confidence validating and reconciling numbers
- Ability to manage multiple dashboards and priorities independently
**Technical background we are looking for**
- Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
- DAX, including performance considerations
- Data modeling concepts (granularity, relationships, fact/dimension design)
- Power Query (M)
- Excel and other structured file formats (CSV, XLSX, flat files), especially with large operational datasets
- Basic scripting (for example Python) is a plus, not a direct requirement
- SQL for data validation and troubleshooting
Experience with other BI or analytics tools is a plus but not required.
