**Neon is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/ Bookkeeper to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the accuracy and compliance of our financial transactions. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for building the accounting process with our VP of Finance and be the first person working on accounting in the future. They will be responsible for invoicing customers, paying vendors, following up on past-due accounts, and performing month-end close responsibilities.**

**Responsibilities:**
Strong applicants will have the ability to work on a wide range of financial duties, including but not limited to:
- Create customer subscriptions in Stripe and maintain accounts.
- Processing vendor payments and maintaining key vendor relationships
- Resolving customer questions via phone and email regarding billing and invoicing
- Recording transactions and ensuring accuracy in their general ledger reporting
- Monitoring outstanding accounts receivables and actively following up on past due accounts
- Coordinating with VP of Finance to ensure alignment across finance function
- Performing month-end closing activities including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
- Managing day-to-day accounting functions including billing, revenue recognition, collections, and general ledger accounting
- Handle payroll processing and associated tasks with attention to detail
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- **Qualifications:**
The ideal candidate would have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in accounting software
- Experience in the accounting department of a software company
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and thrive in an independent work environment
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
