Our laboratory supports environmental monitoring, scientific testing, and analytical services for public institutions, private clients, and international projects.
To strengthen our laboratory and field monitoring activities, GR Albania is seeking a Junior Chemist to support laboratory analysis and environmental monitoring assignments.
**Role Purpose**
The Junior Chemist will assist in environmental sampling, on-site measurements, laboratory analysis, and preparation of analytical reports. The role combines laboratory work and field activities and offers opportunities for learning and professional development within environmental monitoring and laboratory operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
Field Sampling & Measurements
- Assist in environmental sampling and on-site measurements (water, soil, air, noise and other environmental parameters).
- Support the operation of field monitoring equipment and portable instruments.
- Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, transport, and storage according to laboratory procedures.
- Record field observations and measurement data accurately.
**Laboratory Analysis**
- Assist in performing laboratory analyses and testing procedures.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and laboratory equipment for analysis.
- Maintain laboratory records and data logs.
**Data & Reporting Support**
- Support preparation of laboratory reports and documentation.
- Assist with data entry, analysis, and quality checks.
**Laboratory Operations**
- Support maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and internal protocols.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory supplies and inventory.
**Qualifications & Experience**
**Minimum Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in laboratory work, internships, or environmental monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory analytical methods and instruments.
- Good English language skills (written and spoken).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both in laboratory and field environments.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with environmental sampling or laboratory internships.
- Familiarity with environmental parameters (water, soil, air quality).
- Basic knowledge of laboratory quality systems or standards (e.g., ISO 17025).
- Valid driving license is an advantage.
