Regulatory & Technical Expert (Independent Advisor) – Digital Battery & Product Passports
Minespider
**Regulatory & Technical Expert (Independent Advisor) – Digital Battery & Product Passports**
**About Minespider**
Minespider builds digital infrastructure for regulated industrial supply chains. Our platform enables manufacturers, OEMs, recyclers, and governments to trace materials, structure product-level data, and operationalise Digital Product Passports in high-compliance environments.
We work where regulatory precision, technical credibility, and lifecycle accountability matter. Our DBP and DPP solutions are already deployed in live enterprise environments across Europe and internationally.
As EU Battery Regulation and ESPR move from legislative text to enforceable operational architecture, we are strengthening our strategic advisory capability to ensure our platform evolves ahead of regulatory and technical expectations.
**The Role**
Minespider is expanding its network of independent domain experts supporting the development and deployment of Digital Battery Passports (DBP) and Digital Product Passports (DPP).
We are looking to collaborate with senior specialists who can provide regulatory and technical advisory on complex topics as they arise, particularly at the intersection of:
- EU Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542)
- Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR)
- Emerging DPP/DBP standardisation
- Battery engineering and BMS methodologies
This is not a compliance monitoring role.
This is an opportunity to contribute expertise on how regulatory intent translates into operational digital infrastructure.
You will work closely with our sales, project management, & regulatory teams, to provide guidance on technical and regulatory topics when they arise.
**Your Impact**
You will contribute to the refinement and long-term robustness of our Digital Battery Passport architecture by:
- Interpreting how dynamic data (e.g. State of Health) is interpreted, structured, and operationalised in real-world deployments
- Advising on performance, durability, and capacity metrics within the context of regulatory expectations
- Provide input on lifecycle logic, including ownership transfer, repair events, and module replacement scenarios
- Contributing to discussions on access rights and responsibility models across the battery lifecycle
- Providing early interpretation of delegated acts, JRC drafts, and standardisation developments and translating them into architectural decisions
- Supporting high-complexity client discussions and RFP responses where additional expertise is valuable
**Key Areas of Focus**
Regulatory & Standardisation Intelligence
- Practical interpretation of the EU Battery Regulation requirements.
- Monitor delegated and implementing acts under the EU Battery Regulation.
- Track ESPR developments relevant to Digital Product Passports.
- Follow JRC, DIN, CEN/CENELEC and related standardisation efforts.
- Translate developments into structured strategic product implications.
Technical Advisory (Battery Engineering & BMS Advisory)
- Provide expert guidance on:
- State of Health (SoH) methodologies and comparability
- Dynamic vs static data classification
- Related regulatory Performance and durability metrics and dynamic data interpretations
Governance & Lifecycle Architecture
Provide guidance on regulatory questions connected to:
- Ownership transfer models.
- Responsibility allocation across lifecycle actors.
- Access rights frameworks.
- Regulatory timing considerations (e.g., QR code details).
Internal Enablement
Experts in our advisory network may be consulted to:
- Provide input on complex regulatory or technical questions raised during product development, client implementations or sales discussions
- Participate in targeted expert discussions with Minespider teams when specialised expertise is required
- Provide perspective on emerging regulatory or technical developments relevant to DBP or DPP
- Contribute when relevant to interpretation notes on evolving regulatory topics
Engagement is paid, ad-hoc and topic-driven, depending on project needs.
**Why This Is Interesting**
- Opportunity to contribute to one of the early operational implementations of EU Digital Battery Passport infrastructure as a whole
- Influence how dynamic lifecycle data is represented at scale
- Exposure to real-world deployments across multiple sectors
- Participation in a regulatory-tech domain that will play a significant role in the future industrial compliance frameworks
**What we offer**
- Hourly consulting engagement for targeted regulatory and technical advisory
- Flexible, on-demand collaboration based on project or product needs
- Opportunity to join our network of domain experts supporting DPP and DBP development
- Direct interaction with senior team members when specialised expertise is required
- Work connected to real-world enterprise deployments in regulated industrial environments
- A platform already operational in the market - not theoretical
