AI Engineer (Remote) — via Mundus for our US client

About the role:
Our client, a growing US-based company, is looking for an AI Engineer to join their team remotely. You'll build production applications on top of large language models — RAG systems, AI agents, and LLM integrations that ship directly to end users.
This role is sourced and screened by Mundus, an embedded recruitment partner specializing in placing talents with employers globally.
**Responsibilities**
- Design and implement RAG systems over internal documents and knowledge bases
- Build AI agents with tool-calling capabilities
- Own prompt engineering and continuous optimization
- Set up evaluation frameworks for accuracy, safety, and response quality
- Manage latency, cost per call, and guardrails in production
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams on AI feature integration
- Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, Python required
- Proven production experience with LangChain/LangGraph or similar frameworks
- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, or similar)
- Experience integrating LLM provider APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google)
- Solid understanding of RAG architecture and evaluation methodology
- English proficiency (written and spoken) — B2 or higheri
**Nice to have**
- Experience with multi-agent systems
- Experience optimizing LLM call cost/latency
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (not required with strong portfolio)
