Position Overview:
The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for managing relationships with carriers to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. This role requires a blend of sales acumen,

Key Responsibilities:
**Carrier Procurement and Negotiation:**
- Identify, onboard, and negotiate contracts with carriers to secure transportation services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with a network of carriers to ensure availability and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers, ensuring alignment with company goals for cost efficiency and service quality.
**Load Management:**
- Match available loads with carrier capacity, optimizing routes and ensuring timely delivery.
- Monitor and manage load boards and internal systems to secure the best carrier options.
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., operations, customer service) to align carrier availability with customer demand.
**Carrier Relationship Management:**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers to foster loyalty and long-term partnerships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Evaluate carrier performance and work with underperforming carriers to improve service levels.
**Market Analysis and Strategy:**
- Monitor market trends, capacity, and pricing to stay competitive and make informed decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management on carrier strategy and market conditions.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
**Compliance and Risk Management:**
- Ensure carrier compliance with all applicable regulations, including safety and insurance requirements.
- Work with the compliance team to verify carrier credentials and mitigate risks such as cargo theft or double brokering.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of carrier agreements and performance.
**Technology Utilization:**
- Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software to manage carrier operations efficiently.
- Utilize data analytics tools to track performance metrics and improve carrier selection and load matching.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- **1-4 years of experience in carrier sales, logistics, or transportation management.**
- Proven track record of successful carrier negotiation and relationship management.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and load boards.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and sales skills with a focus on building long-term relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make strategic decisions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
