StarLabs is seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps and
engineering teams on building and maintaining scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure
across multiple client environments. The engineer will be expected to work independently, take
ownership of infrastructure decisions, and contribute to architecture and delivery discussions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain production-grade infrastructure on AWS and IONOS.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters (self-hosted and managed, e.g., EKS), including
configuration, Helm charts, networking, and autoscaling. - Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and
GitLab CI. - Build infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred; Ansible or
Pulumi a bonus). - Implement and manage observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki,
Datadog). - Apply security best practices: IAM policies, WAF (Cloudflare), secure networking, secret
management. - Support containerized application delivery (Docker) and GitOps-style workflows.
- Participate in infrastructure planning, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers; report to the internal DevOps lead.
Technical Requirements: - 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or SRE roles.
- Deep experience with AWS core services (EC2, EKS, RDS, IAM, S3, VPC).
- Proficient in Kubernetes (multi-cluster or multi-tenant experience a plus).
- Expertise in Terraform, including writing reusable modules.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, etc.).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, or Go).
- Solid understanding of networking (DNS, SSL/TLS, ingress controllers, firewalls, VPCs).
- Familiarity with Cloudflare services, especially WAF and Zero Trust tunnels.
- Strong grasp of monitoring/logging best practices.
- Comfortable using Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent environments and projects.
- Willing and able to participate in an on-call rotation (with defined schedule and expectations).
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
- Familiarity with IONOS infrastructure or APIs.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB in production.
- Background working with managed service providers or multiple client stacks.
- Exposure to ISO 27001 or other compliance frameworks.
