**Senior Backend Developer (.NET) – Malta (Tech Lead Path)**
**The Job**
We’re looking for a Senior .NET Backend Developer to join a new & growing engineering hub in the center of Skopje, and play a pivotal role in building scalable, high-performance backend systems using .NET 9/C#. You’ll design and evolve APIs, drive backend architecture, and contribute to a full platform redesign.
**The Company**
My client is an international iGaming start-up scaling a new engineering team in Skopje in addition to already establised operation in Malta. With strong backing, global teams, and a modern product roadmap, they’re investing in high-quality engineering and long-term architectural improvements. The Skopje hub is growing fast, providing real ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to influence a large-scale platform built with the latest .NET technologies.
**About You**
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering but also wants a clear career path toward becoming a Tech Lead or Team Lead. Within 6 months, you’ll progressively take ownership of mentoring, guiding technical decision-making, and shaping engineering standards.
**You bring:**
- 5+ years of backend engineering with .NET / .NET Core
- Strong experience in OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture
- Solid experience with SQL databases such as MS SQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience building distributed systems or microservices
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
**Nice to have:**
NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis), event-driven architecture, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, or prior mentoring experience.
