**Job Description:**
We are looking for a
**Scala Developer**
to join our development teams. In this role, you will contribute to building and maintaining applications and large‑scale data processing workflows that support internal global operations .
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain backend applications using
**Scala**
and
**Java SE**
.
- Design and implement large‑scale data processing pipelines using
**Apache Spark**
.
- Optimize Spark jobs and backend services for performance and scalability.
- Integrate solutions with existing enterprise systems and internal platforms.
- Work with large datasets and complex data structures.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Cloud teams on orchestration and scaling.
- Apply secure coding practices, unit testing, and proper technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to applications, Spark pipelines, and production workloads.
**Skills and Qualifications**
**Technical Skills**
- Hands‑on experience with
**Scala**
in backend development.
- Strong knowledge of
**Java Standard Edition**
.
- Practical experience with
**Apache Spark**
(Core, SQL, DataFrames, RDDs).
- Understanding of distributed data processing architectures (batch and/or streaming).
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Knowledge of
**Linux**
environments.
- SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage.
**Soft Skills**
- Ability to work effectively in international, cross‑functional teams.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
**Language Skills**
- Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
