**Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server & MongoDB)**
We are looking for a
**Senior Database Administrator**
with strong expertise in
**SQL Server and MongoDB**
that
**speaks Italian and English fluently**
, to join our
**Data Infrastructure team**
.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of our database platforms, working closely with Data, Engineering, and Development teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, manage, and maintain
**backup and restore strategies**
, including retention policies, encryption, restore testing, and auditing.
- Lead
**database migrations and modernization initiatives**
, including assessment, cutover planning, and downtime minimization.
- Perform
**proactive monitoring and advanced troubleshooting**
, conducting root cause analysis and driving continuous improvements.
- Drive
**performance tuning and optimization**
: index management, query optimization, capacity planning, storage management, and growth forecasting.
- Define and maintain
**ETL and data integration pipelines**
, in collaboration with Data and Engineering teams.
- Produce and maintain
**technical documentation and runbooks**
.
- Act as a technical reference for development teams, promoting
**best practices**
in database design, schema modeling, and query optimization.
**Technical Requirements – Must Have**
**SQL Server**
- Strong experience with Always On Availability Groups, transactional replication, and failover clustering.
- Deep knowledge of maintenance activities (index and statistics management) and advanced troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with backup/restore processes and
**Disaster Recovery strategies**
.
- Solid understanding of
**security and permissions management**
.
- Experience with patching and version upgrades.
**MongoDB**
- Strong experience with
**replica sets and sharding**
.
- Advanced
**performance tuning**
skills.
- Backup and restore strategies.
- Experience with patching and upgrades.
- Hands-on experience managing clusters on
**MongoDB Atlas**
(monitoring, scaling, policies, security).
**Nice to Have**
- Experience managing
**AWS RDS**
(parameter tuning, performance optimization, monitoring, backup/snapshots, high availability).
- Practical knowledge of
**ETL processes and data pipelines**
, including scheduling and data quality controls.
