**Role Description**
This is a full-time, on-site Automation / PLC Engineer role based in North Macedonia. The Automation / PLC Engineer will design, program, test, and commission PLC-based control systems for industrial and IoT applications, ensuring reliable integration between field devices, machinery, and higher-level software platforms. Daily responsibilities include developing control logic, configuring communication protocols, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and optimizing system performance and reliability. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prepare technical documentation, support installation and maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with relevant safety and industry standards. The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement of automation solutions and support customers with technical guidance and post-deployment adjustments.
**Qualifications**
- Strong skills in PLC programming (e.g., ladder logic, function block, structured text) and experience with major PLC platforms (such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems, including sensors, actuators, drive systems, HMI/SCADA interfaces, and control panel design.
- Understanding of communication protocols and networking for automation, such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC UA, and Ethernet/IP.
- Experience with system testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for both hardware and software in industrial environments.
- Familiarity with IoT concepts, data acquisition, and integration of PLCs with cloud or edge platforms is a strong advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation, and to produce clear project documentation and reports.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and interact with customers and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
