**Role Description**
The Drill Rig Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Gostivar. This role involves operating and monitoring drill rigs for blasting and excavation activities in quarries, road construction sites, and slope protection projects. The Drill Rig Operator will set up and position equipment, follow drilling plans, manage drill depths and angles, and ensure optimal use of drilling tools and consumables. Daily tasks include routine inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs of drilling equipment, as well as accurate logging of drilling data and reporting any technical issues. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures, coordination with blasting and site teams, and working in varying weather and terrain conditions.
**Qualifications**
- Proficiency in operating drill rigs and related heavy equipment, preferably with experience using Atlas Copco/EPIROC or similar drilling technology.
- Strong understanding of drilling and blasting processes, including basic knowledge of ANFO explosives, borehole patterns, and site preparation.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and minor troubleshooting.
- Awareness of safety regulations and best practices in mining, construction, and quarry environments, with a commitment to safe work habits.
- Ability to read and follow drilling plans, technical instructions, and production schedules, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Good physical stamina and capability to work in outdoor, high-noise, and variable terrain conditions for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with site engineers, blasting teams, and other operators.
- Previous experience in mining, quarries, or road construction drilling operations; vocational training or certification in heavy equipment operation is an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license; willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as project needs require.
