As a
**Backend Developer**
, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that every solution meets high standards of reliability, performance, and security. You’ll work on
**data ingestion pipelines**
,
**API services**
, and
**AI integrations**
, collaborating closely with engineers, data scientists, and cybersecurity specialists.
This is a hands-on role where your work goes straight into production and makes a real impact.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Data Pipeline Architecture:**
Engineer and maintain reliable, scalable data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources, ensuring they are optimized for production-ready performance.
**API & AI Orchestration:**
Design secure, high-performance APIs and seamlessly integrate backend architectures with internal AI models to power intelligent workflows.
**DevOps & Cloud Deployment:**
Containerize services with Docker for deployment on AWS ECS while orchestrating CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and secure code delivery.
**System Observability:**
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to maintain system health and proactively resolve operational issues.
**What You Bring**
**Core Skills**
- Strong experience with
**Python**
,
**Django**
, and
**Django REST Framework**
- Experience building
**data ingestion or integration pipelines**
- Solid understanding of
**REST APIs**
and
**JSON-based services**
- Hands-on experience with
**Docker**
and containerized applications
- Experience working with
**AWS**
or similar cloud platforms
- Familiarity with
**CI/CD pipelines**
(GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
**Data & Observability**
- Solid understanding of databases and
**data**
storage best practices.
- Ability to design and work with high-volume and streaming data workflows.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
**Collaboration & Communication**
- Comfortable operating in
**fast-moving**
, cross-functional teams alongside engineers, product, and security.
- Able to
**communicate technical ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing**
, and consistently document your work.
- English level B2+; Italian language skills are considered a strong plus.
**Nice to Have**
- Experience with event-driven architectures (for example Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS).
- Familiarity with asynchronous processing patterns and frameworks (such as Celery, async Django, or FastAPI).
- Exposure to AI/ML systems or data science workflows in production environments.
- Background in cybersecurity, cloud security, or compliance-focused environments.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
