**Jupiter BPO is hiring a Lead Product Engineer**
to take end-to-end ownership of a live, production property-management platform.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can work directly with business stakeholders, understand operational requirements, translate them into clear technical specifications, design the architecture, build the solution, test it, deploy it, and support it in production.
- The platform is already substantial, with approximately
**199,000 lines of application code, 63 PostgreSQL tables, 270+ API route handlers, 130 React components and multiple production integrations**

What you'll be doing
- Take end-to-end technical ownership of an established production platform.
- Work directly with business leaders and operational teams to gather and define requirements.
- Design data models, APIs, system architecture and service boundaries.
- Build and maintain full-stack functionality using
**Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL and React**
.
- Maintain integrations including
**Xero, GoCardless, Cloudflare R2, Resend and Grafana Loki**
.
- Work across payments, billing, arrears, tenancy management, compliance, documents, communications and access control.
- Own testing strategy, production deployments, scheduled jobs, incident response and ongoing platform reliability.
- Make technical decisions independently while constructively challenging requirements when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
- **10+ years of experience**
building and maintaining production software, with proven end-to-end ownership of complex systems.
- Strong experience with
**Node.js, PostgreSQL and React**
.
- Deep understanding of
**database architecture, schema design, migrations, APIs and row-level security**
.
- Experience gathering requirements directly from
**non-technical stakeholders**
and translating them into technical specifications and working software.
- Production experience integrating
**accounting platforms**
such as Xero, QuickBooks or similar.
- Experience with
**payment systems**
, ideally Direct Debit/BACS, including mandate management, reconciliation, failed payments and chargebacks.
- Strong understanding of
**testing, deployment pipelines, production support and incident response**
.
- Experience inheriting and improving a
**large, fast-moving existing codebase**
without relying on a full rewrite.
- Ability to work independently and act as the
**senior technical decision-maker**
for the project.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to challenge requirements constructively and recommend the most appropriate technical solution.
- Knowledge of
**UK residential lettings/property-management compliance**
would be highly advantageous, including areas such as Section 8, deposit protection and Building Safety requirements.
