**Employment Type:**
Full-time
**Job Location:**

**About the Client**
Our client is an established international investment management organisation supporting institutional and professional investors through a range of investment strategies and financial solutions. Their technology team manages several important digital platforms, including externally facing websites and an internal home office intranet. The websites allspringglobal.com and galliard.com, together with the company intranet, are built on the Optimizely, formerly EPiServer, Content Management System.
**About the Role**
We are looking for an experienced Senior Optimizely CMS Engineer with strong back end development experience and genuine hands on experience developing within the Optimizely CMS platform.
This is not primarily an Optimizely experimentation, A/B testing, or front end role. The client is specifically looking for someone who has worked deeply within Optimizely CMS and understands its APIs, framework, architecture, content structures, integrations, and development patterns.
The ideal candidate has experience with Optimizely CMS 12 PaaS and preferably CMS 13 SaaS. CMS 13 and Optimizely Content Graph experience are particularly valuable because the engineering team is planning an upgrade and expects to use Content Graph for data retrieval.
Candidates with strong Optimizely experience from earlier versions, including candidates whose most recent Optimizely work was around 2023 or 2024, may also be considered.
Strong Sitecore engineers may also be considered.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Report directly to the Engineering Manager and contribute to the development of the client's externally facing websites, allspringglobal.com and galliard.com, as well as the company's internal home office intranet.
- Develop and maintain back end and front end functionality within the Optimizely Content Management System.
- Build solutions using C#, .NET 6, SQL, APIs, data driven architecture, and Optimizely CMS.
- Work within Optimizely CMS 12 PaaS to the team's future transition toward CMS 13 SaaS.
- Work with Optimizely Content Graph to retrieve, expose, and integrate content where required.
- Develop and maintain application and data integrations between Optimizely and other internal or external systems.
- Participate in all aspects of the Agile development workflow, including meetings with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Help the engineering team anticipate stakeholder requirements and improve the reliability and maintainability of its digital platforms.
- Apply object oriented development principles, SOLID principles, dependency injection, and established software engineering practices.
- Grow automated test coverage through Test Driven Development, including both unit testing and end to end testing.
- Participate in troubleshooting and investigation of production issues.
**What You Should Bring**
- 5+ years of professional C# and .NET development experience, including .NET 6, APIs, and data driven application architecture.
- 5+ years of SQL experience.
- 3+ years of Optimizely CMS experience, formerly EPiServer.
- Experience building back end functionality within Optimizely.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of SOLID principles and dependency injection.
- 5+ years of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript experience, including consuming and integrating APIs.
- Ability to explain technical decisions and demonstrate a genuine understanding of the systems and technologies you have worked with.
**Bonus If You Have**
- Hands on experience with Optimizely CMS 13 and Optimizely Content Graph.
- Optimizely developer certification. Certification is particularly valuable as the client considers it a strong indicator of deeper knowledge of the Optimizely APIs and framework.
- Experience with Optimizely Data Platform
- Experience with customer data platforms or CDP technologies.
- Experience working with Salesforce Data Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Experience with complex data integrations and API integrations, application or system monitoring, AWS, React, Java, and Sitecore CMS.
**What You Get**
- Private health insurance
- 20 days annual leave
- Company-provided laptop with IT support
- Paid candidate referral program
- Access to international teams, mentorship, and growth paths
- Flexibility to work remotely
**Interview Process**
1. Shortlisted candidates contacted within a week of applying. 2-3 weeks for decision following 1st interview.
2. Candidates should expect a technical screening focused specifically on validating genuine Optimizely CMS development experience.
3. Candidates who progress will complete a 30 minute technical discussion with the Hiring Manager. Successful candidates will then attend a one hour panel interview covering approximately 30 minutes of technical discussion and 30 minutes focused on communication and team fit.
