We are looking for an experienced \*\*Security Engineer – WAF / Application Security\*\* with a strong background in application security and Web Application Firewall technologies.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with solutions such as \*\*F5, Fortinet, Imperva, AWS WAF or other cloud-native WAF platforms\*\*, working in complex and mission-critical environments across on-premise, hybrid and cloud infrastructures.
🔐 \*\*Key Responsibilities\*\*
🛡️ Design, implement and manage advanced \*\*Web Application Firewall solutions\*\* in enterprise environments
🔎 Analyze application security requirements and define tailored security policies
⚠️ Perform threat modeling and improve application protection strategies
⚙️ Configure and optimize WAF policies, signatures and custom rules
🤖 Manage protection against \*\*DoS/DDoS attacks, bots and targeted application threats\*\*
🔒 Handle SSL/TLS certificates and advanced HTTP/S security configurations
💻 Develop custom security rules such as \*\*iRules, custom signatures and XML/JSON policies\*\*
📄 Produce technical documentation, operational playbooks and runbooks
✅ Support security assessments, audits and compliance initiatives
🚨 Contribute to incident response and security remediation activities
🎓 Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance on application security best practices
🎯 \*\*Required Skills\*\*
✔️ Proven hands-on experience with at least one major WAF technology: \*\*F5, Fortinet, Imperva or Cloud-native WAF\*\*
✔️ Strong knowledge of \*\*HTTP/S, web protocols and SSL/TLS certificate management\*\*
✔️ Experience with advanced application security modules and custom security rules
✔️ Knowledge of \*\*AWS, Azure or GCP\*\* from a Web Application Security perspective
✔️ Experience in high-criticality environments such as \*\*Banking, Finance, Telco or Public Sector\*\*
✔️ Familiarity with \*\*automation, monitoring and logging tools\*\*
✔️ Good command of English – \*\*B1/B2 level or higher\*\*
⭐ \*\*Nice to Have\*\*
🏅 Technical certifications such as \*\*F5-CA/CTS, Fortinet NSE, AWS Security Specialty, GIAC or OSWA\*\*
🔗 Knowledge of \*\*API Security\*\*
🧩 Experience with \*\*Zero Trust architectures\*\*
🏗️ Understanding of \*\*Secure Application Design principles\*\*
📚 Knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as \*\*ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIS2, DORA, GDPR, PSD2, OWASP ASVS and MITRE ATT&CK\*\*
