Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with hands on experience building mobile and offline sync applications to join our North American client's team. You will builld what an inspector holds in their hands - a .NET MAUI application that works in tunnels, basements and dead zones, and the offline sync engine that makes sure no record is ever lost.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Build the .NET MAUI app with AI agents - inspection workflows, defect capture, assignments, map and list views.
- Hand-craft the offline-first sync engine: SQLite local store, change tracking, conflict resolution, append-only completed records, photo upload queue, retry and resume - with every record tagged to its tenant.
- Implement hardware services behind cross-platform interfaces: camera, GPS, barcode/QR scanning, speech capture, and background work (Android WorkManager, foreground services).
- Build regulatory recordkeeping into the app - same-day record preparation, timely electronic storage, unique author identity, and immutable records with separately stored amendments.
- Debug on rugged devices in poor coverage and real field conditions - this is hands-on work, not just code reviews.
- Drive AI through design, implement, and test loops - and review every AI change before it merges.
- Keep iOS building in CI from day one - no Android-only code outside platform services.
- Support field trials on site with inspectors, and cross-train with the cloud engineer so either of you can cover the other.
**Job Requirements**
- 7+ years of professional software development, including 3+ years shipping Xamarin or .NET MAUI apps to production on Android.
- Strong C# and .NET: MVVM, async and threading, dependency injection.
- Offline-first mobile experience: SQLite, data synchronization, conflict resolution, and background processing.
- Android platform depth: permissions, app lifecycle, background limits, location services, and camera.
- Secure REST API integration from mobile: OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, MSAL.
- Uses AI coding agents daily and can demonstrate how to specify, steer, and review AI-generated code.
- Automated mobile testing: unit and integration.
- Nice to have: iOS platform experience, rugged device / scanner SDK experience (e.g., Zebra), offline maps, speech recognition in mobile apps, field service or inspection domain background.
